On 3^rd  November 2021, Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Consul-General of Thailand in Jeddah, along with  Mr. Apichat Prasertsud, Director of Thai Trade Office in Jeddah, and officials of the Consulate-General welcomed at the consulate’s office the Thai delegation on Halal affairs, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Winai Dahlan, Director of the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Priyakorn, Director of the Halal Standards Institute of Thailand, on its visiting Saudi Arabia for the 16th General Assembly of the Standard and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries ( SMIIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which took place in Madinah on 2^nd  November 2021.

On this occasion, Thai Consul-General led the delegation to meet with the Executive Director of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) at the SFDA western region branch office in Jeddah, and the Vice-President of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce at the chamber’s headquarter in Jeddah. During the meeting, they exchanged views and information on Halal affairs and seek ways to promote Halal cooperation between them in both terms of business and academic fields.
