On 15 February 2022 H.E. Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Consul General of Thailand in Jeddah, along with Mr. Apichat Prasertsud, Director of Thai Trade Center in Jeddah, met with Mr. Hazim M. Sonbol, Vice President of Saudia Airlines at the Airlines Headquarter in Jeddah to discuss Saudia's plan to operate direct flights to Bangkok beginning in May 2022. 

During the discussion, Saudia Airlines informed that the Airlines will operate daily flight from Saudi Arabia to Thailand departing from both Jeddah and Riyadh. Boeing 787 Dreamline which can accommodate up to 298 passengers will be used in this new route.  

On this occasion, both sides also discuss ways and means to increase cooperation in several areas ranging from air transportation, tourism to trade.
