On October 4, 2021, Mr. Sorajak Puranasamriddhi, Consul-General of Thailand in Jeddah, attended the opening ceremony of the 2021 IWF Youth World Championships at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jeddah. The opening ceremony presided over by Mr. Badr Al-Qadi, Deputy Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia.

There are more than 300 youth weightlifters under 17 years old from 54 countries, male and female categories, participating in the competition which will last until October 12, 2021.

The competition program for the Thai National Youth Weightlifting Team which led by Air Marshal Wattanachai Charoenrat, Team Manager, will be from 6 - 8 October 2021.
