On 8th December 2021, the Royal Thai Consulate General in Jeddah hosted a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Thailand Father’s Day at Crowne Plaza Jeddah hotel.

Approximately 150 guests including H.E. Mr. Mazin bin Hamad Al-Himali, Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, western region branch, who presented at the reception as the Guest of Honour, Consuls General and representatives of International Organizations accredited in Jeddah, businessmen,  and media persons attended the event.

Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Consul General of Thailand delivered a speech celebrating the Late King  Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 70 years of self-dedication and the preservance of His Majesty’s legacies by the current King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Also, he commended Saudi Arabia for the successful organization of the G20 meetings last year and the recent outcome of the Middle East Green Initiative Summit and the Saudi Green Initiative Forum which have gathered political wills and resources to tackle the pressing issue of climate change. He, as well, congratulated Saudi Arabia for its outstanding achievements in handling with COVID-19 pandemic.

In conclusion, the Consul General highlighted that Thailand has taken over the Chairmanship of APEC 2022, with the theme of “Open, Connect, Balance”. The concept of Bio, Circular, and Green Economy, or BCG Economy Model will be further promoted as the driving force behind APEC's priorities next year. And finally, he offered his best wishes to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun of Thailand and His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia for their Majesties' health and longevity.
