Celebration of the 20th year anniversary of the Thai Language and Cultural Program and Eid Al-Fitr 1444 AH.

The Thai Language and Cultural Program celebrated its 20th year anniversary on 19 May 2023 under the aegis of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Jeddah. Eid Al-Fitr 1444 AH hosted by the Thai Consulate was held at the same occasion. Approximately 250 participants from Thai communities in Jeddah and neighboring cities joined this auspicious event which included various activities composed of awarding certificates to 119 students who graduated from the basic education program, student cultural performances, giving certificates of honor to teachers and staff of the program's Thai language, granting money to support the Thai community by the Consulate General, and having a dinner party.

The Consul-General also advised students who had graduated, by emphasizing that studying Thai will open the door to opportunities for higher education. He thanked all staff and parents who have supported the program and reaffirmed the commitment of the Consulate-General to continue supporting the educational activities of the Thai community.

The program of teaching Thai language and culture to Thai youth in the western region of Saudi Arabia was established in 2003, with the aim of providing opportunities for the Thai community, of which the majority use Malay and Arabic as their main languages in daily life and have the chance to learn more Thai languages. The Consulate-General has always given priority to this program in its plans until now, with more than 2,000 students participating in the program.
