On August 18, 2022, Mr. Pisoot Suwanrasami, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General of Thailand to Jeddah, presided over a press conference on the launch of Thai Airways International's direct flights from Bangkok to Jeddah at Centro Shaheen Hotel where representatives of Thai Airways International, Al Maha United Travel Company which is a General Sales Agent (GSA) of the airlines in Saudi Arabia, leading travel agencies in Jeddah and local media attended the event.

On this occasion, Acting Consul-General congratulated Thai Airways International for this inaugural flight to Saudi Arabia after more than 30 years of its absent and expressed confidence that the reopening of this direct flight will help promote trade, investment, tourism and people to people exchange between the two countries. Acting Consul-General also expressed the readiness of the Royal Thai Consulate-General to cooperate with Thai Airways International as well as the private sector in tourism industry in Jeddah to promote tourism between Thailand and Saudi Arabia.

In addition, Acting Consul-General and representatives of Thai Airways International participated in answering questions to the media and travel agencies who attended the press conference.

The inaugural flight of Thai Airways International, flight TG503, will depart Bangkok on August 19, 2022 at 18:45 hrs. and will arrive in Jeddah on the same day at 22.40 hrs.
