On September 1, 2022, Mr. Pisoot Suwanrasami, Acting Consul-General of Thailand to Jeddah, together with Mr. Apichat Prasertsud, Director of Thai Trade Center in Jeddah and Mr. Khalaf Bin Houssan Al Otaibi, Vice President of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly opened the Saudi - Thai Business Matching & Networking at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry where 138 Thai entrepreneurs from 89 companies in the fields of food and beverages, automotive, construction materials, logistics, furniture, electronic products, cosmetics, etc., and at least 100 Saudi importers and entrepreneurs from 87 companies participated in the event.

 During the discussion between Acting Consul General and Vice President of the Chamber, both sides agreed to jointly promote economic, trade, investment and industrial cooperation between Thailand and Saudi Arabia. In addition, the Saudi side also expressed interest in organizing a group of Saudi businesspersons from Jeddah to Thailand to meet with Thai private sectors in the future.

 This business trip to Jeddah by Thai businesspersons is part of the official visit to Saudi Arabia of H.E. Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce who visited Riyadh between 27 - 31 August 2022. In addition to business matching activities and networking with Saudi businesspersons, Thai private sector delegation will also have the opportunity to explore Saudi market in various shopping malls in Jeddah which is considered an important port city of Saudi Arabia.
